song xin's work evolves from fashion and computational arts to performance and body practices. In her creations, the relationship between technological systems and the body is not one of collaboration, but a process of rupture and reconstruction. She uses games and performance to test reality, where the body becomes a site for exploration, resistance, and self-redefinition within the ever-evolving spaces of the virtual and the real.
xin explores the intersection of performance and visual art through sound, space, the body, and live visuals. Recently, her work has delved into the dynamic relationship between technology, the body, and new media. She creates live experiences where the body interacts with visuals, acting as a catalyst for reimagining identity and action. Through experiments within virtual environments, xin challenges perception and explores the creation of new connections in an ever-evolving world.

This performance felt like the night when my Outsidein friends and I buried the kimchi jar deep in the Saxon Switzerland forest. Microorganisms ferment endlessly through time and space, and I sense that in another distant time, those traces will be reactivated. I felt the subtle shifts of fermentation, the dampness of the soil, and the stillness of the forest, as if I could perceive the electromagnetic signals from the future. In this moment, only what lies beneath the light remains visible. Light interweaves a new visual and sonic narrative, while everything else drifts and transforms in the unknown.

Determined to melt the body and each other here, reshaping in the primordial myth of Nüwa creating humans and the complex binary algae. The moment of standing at the center is one of awaiting the re-extension of each other's bodies and the reconfiguration of desires..
We had the best time playing together, pushing the limits beyond the invisible boundaries, and challenging technology. It was all about being honest and presenting ourselves in that moment. The event was organized by @xiaoyu1002_, @tongktongktong, and @sssc.collective at @somersgallery.

In the collaboration between XI-N and Song Xin, darkness is a void, while light intrudes upon it. From their clash, shadows arise, becoming a hidden language and a tangible form of imagination. This opposition and fusion span the boundaries of the real and the virtual, the physical and the digital, and extend to the edge of existence and creation. From this, a world emerges— one suspended between reality and illusion, filled with fragmented perceptions and reconstructions.
